Parading in the Batalla de Flores at the 2027 Barranquilla Carnival

The Batalla de Flores isn't just another parade. It's the event that officially opens the Barranquilla Carnival, a tradition dating back to 1903. It began as a way to celebrate the end of the Thousand Days' War: rather than violence, the people of Barranquilla chose to swap weapons for flowers, joy, and dancing, staging a peaceful "battle" to reconcile the country.

Today, it's the biggest and most spectacular event of the entire Carnival. For hours, the cumbiódromo on Vía 40 and the surrounding streets become a river of people, filled with monumental floats, ancestral folk groups, and the most spectacular comparsas in Colombia.

It's an overwhelming explosion of live music, traditional costumes such as the Rey Momo, the Marimonda, and the Garabato, and a euphoric crowd covered in foam in a celebration like no other.

By booking this experience, you'll have the unique opportunity to live all of this from the inside, parading with an official comparsa during the Batalla de Flores 2027.

What Will the Experience Be Like?

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Barranquilla and take you to the preparation area. There, we'll begin with a talk covering the history, the characters, and the deep significance of the comparsas within the Carnival.

You'll then join the ranks of the Carnival makers themselves. You'll receive your costume, and local dancers will teach you the basic steps and parade protocols while passing on that unmistakable Barranquilla energy.

When the parade gates open on Carrera 54, we'll enter the cumbiódromo and you'll feel like one of the crew. You'll walk and dance your way through the entire Batalla de Flores, surrounded by live music, floats, and thousands of spectators cheering as you pass.

We'll finish the parade after approximately 8 hours in the emblematic Barrio Abajo, the historic heart of the Carnival, where the party carries on at every corner. See you next time!
